Teaching Interests

Dr. Pellant joined Bentley University in 2006, teaching integral Management courses in Organizational Behavior, Leading and Developing High Performance Teams, as well as, Organization and the Environment. Professor Pellant has acted as a Project Manager to student teams in Integrated Business Functions, a corporate immersion undergraduate class. In six out of seven semesters, a student team in Bobby’s section won the Distinguished Harnett Business Plan Award, given to the most comprehensive business plan, incorporating the best ideas for development for an organization, which was independently voted on by four faculty members along with respective company representatives for whom the plan was written for. This is a monetary award matched by the businesses. In the Marketing Department, Bobby teaches core classes in Marketing and Operations, International Marketing, eMarketing, case driven Marketing Management, along with graduate Corporate Immersion. Corporate partnerships have included: IBIS, Snack Aisle, Cakes for Occasion, Bum Boosa®, and Mmofra Trom. Additionally, Bobby has guided students through directed studies, service learning, and acts as a First Year Advisor. She is a proponent of the praxis approach, paperless classrooms, sustainability and product upcycling. Currently, Bobby is teaching in the Information Design and Corporate Communication department. Bobby has over 23+ years teaching at the MBA level as a Professor at: Minnesota State University, Boston College, Clark University, Year Up, as well as, at Cracow School of Business, and Warsaw Akademia, Poland. Bobby has taught across four different departments: Exercise Science/Physiology, Management, Marketing and Informational Design and Corporate Communication. She has extensive knowledge in curriculum design, accreditation, and instituting online learning across several platforms. She is the author of:The effects of conditioning and gender on ratings of perceived exertion during physical exercise (1996), Preferred leadership practices of a religious organization (2004,) The Smart Traveler's Passport (2007), International Marketing adapted from Cateora, et al., from McGraw Hill (2008), and has an inclusion review in Organizational Behavior 1e, Lamm/Tosti-Kharas (2020). She is also a co-author of the tentatively called Business Capital 101: 45 ways to finance an enterprise, an AOBMA publication, currently being revised. Bobby is also collaborating on the 1 Habit Book series, as well as, the Inspired Impact Book series, also both in development.

Research Interests

Postdoctoral efforts include researching implicit bias in outsourcing decision schemes and accountability and decision rules that effectively debias prediscussion preferences. She has obtained a 36 hour course certificate in Online Marketing. Bobby received a 3 year post-doc Professional Certificate in Corporate Sustainability and Innovation from Harvard, taking five graduate courses to acquire foundational knowledge in environmental management and build skills to implement best practices in sustainability management.

Along with teaching at Bentley University, Bobby has started and helped develop three companies: Bum Boosa Bamboo™ a woman ran, bio-based, non-woven bamboo company whose products included first-to-world market 100% bamboo baby wipes, toilet paper, bamboo powder diaper ointment, and early stage prototyping of bamboo diapers.  She helped Bum Boosa Bamboo ™ through the stringent process of becoming a Certified B Corporation. The company was vetted for Shark Tank in 2014, due to innovation and recognition in the industry. Bum Boosa Bamboo™ quickly expanded, despite only a small initial funding from friends and family, and in 2018 was internationally acquired.

Roberta Pellant Consulting (RPC) was started in 2008. Bobby has worked with both small, high-potential emerging start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. She is passionate about empowering business leaders and their teams to thrive amid change and help transform their businesses in such key areas as: business plan development, strategy, client relationships, sales process improvement, marketing, leadership development and training.

Most recently. in April 2020, Bobby became a co-founder and sits on the Board of Directors for Association of Blue Moon Advisors (AOBMA). AOMBA’s mission is to empower Certified Blue Moon Advisors, Professional Consultants and Subject Matter Experts with standardized material, due diligence protocols, processes and certifications by managing a collaborative effort to serve enterprises with the following primary services and deliverables: business valuations, Certified Business Plan™, Capital Readiness Report and Score™, pro forma development, situation and strategic analysis, and capital due diligence.
