Bio

Komal Kalra is an Assistant Professor of Management specializing in international management and organizational behavior. Prior to joining Bentley University, she was a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) of International Management at the Newcastle University Business School in the U.K. She earned her PhD in International Management and Organization from the University of Victoria in Canada and is deeply committed to helping organizations understand and leverage the strengths of linguistic diversity and multilingualism, particularly within emerging economies.

Having lived and worked in several countries—including India, Spain, Canada, the U.K., and the U.S.A.—she brings firsthand insight into navigating the complex challenges of diverse work environments. Her research and teaching aim to advance understanding of how individuals and organizations engage with heterogeneity, specifically in relation to language, culture, and gender. She encourages leaders to view the heterogeneity of individual backgrounds as a strategic asset that can fuel creativity and strengthen team resilience.

Her work further examines how organizations and leaders can design innovative approaches that empower multinational and multilingual teams to collaborate effectively and ensure that a wide range of diverse perspectives can contribute meaningfully.
