JAMES SCHOFIELD

Teaching Interests

James is a generalist, having designed and lectured courses in philosophy of science, ethics, religion, pragmatism, and existentialism.

Research Interests

Last year James published his first book through Palgrave. Based upon the philosophy of Errol E. Harris, the aim of which was to combine 4E cognitive science with David Bohm's philosophy of physics to create a common metaphysical system - what is now called "dialectical holism." He is presently interested in extending this research into interdisciplinary projects concerning virtue, collective cognition, and human evolution.

Bio

James Schofield received his BA in anthropology from Plymouth State University, his MA in consciousness studies from Goddard College, and his PhD from the University of Canterbury.
