Bio

Jeff Gulati is the Senior Associate Dean of Arts & Sciences and a Professor of Political Science in the Global Studies Department. He earned his Ph.D. in Government from the University of Virginia and B.A. in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill. His primary research and teaching interests are in the U.S. Congress, congressional elections, race and American politics, and politics in popular culture. His most recent published work has been on the topics of congressional scandals, campaign finance, and digital campaign strategies and is currently is working on studies that explain why states adopt changes to voting and election administration laws and why some members of Congress are more supportive of Black Lives Matter. Dr. Gulati is a member of the senior editorial boards of the Journal of Information Technology & Politics and the Journal of Political Marketing. Prior to his academic career, he was a survey researcher specializing primarily in designing assessment studies for higher education and surveys for non-profits, interest groups, and local governments, a legal assistant at Covington & Burling, and an intern on Capitol Hill.
