Bio
Jill A. Brown, Ph.D. is a Professor of Management and Hieken Professor of Business Ethics at Bentley University in Waltham, MA (Ph.D., University of Georgia). She is also the current Academic Director for Bentley's part-time Executive Ph.D. in Business program.
Brown's research and teaching interests include ethics, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, strategic leadership and corporate governance. Brown’s work has been published in many journals including the Journal of Business Ethics (JBE), Business Ethics Quarterly (BEQ), Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, California Management Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, and Corporate Governance: An International Review (CGIR), to name a few. Brown is co-author of the 11th edition of the textbook Business & Society: Ethics, Sustainability and Stakeholder Management with Archie Carroll, published by Cengage (2023). She is former co-editor of the Business & Society journal; former Associate Editor for CGIR, and current Section Editor at JBE. She is the past Division Chair for the SIM Division of the Academy of Management (AOM)—an AOM division with over 2000 academic members who teach and research business/society issues. She provides regular ethics training for organizations including the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) across their New England chapters, and she serves on the Advisory Council of the American College Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics in Financial Services.
