Bio
Ipek Koparan is an Assistant Professor of Strategy at Bentley University. She holds a Ph.D. in management from Kent State University (May 2020). She has a master of international business degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University (August 2010).
Ipek's research focuses on the psychology and physiology of decision-making under uncertainty as well as strategic factor markets and dynamic capabilities. She has published in the Journal of International Business Studies and Academy of Management Review. In addition, her work has been presented at several Academic Conferences including the Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society. She received a distinguished paper award from the Academy of Management's Strategy Division (STR) in 2021.
Before Bentley, during her last year as a PhD student at Kent State University, she worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University (August 2019- May 2020). She also worked for Turkish Government for more than a decade in several positions including the chief of department, counselor to Deputy Undersecretary, and foreign trade specialist (2004-2015).
