Bio

Don Chand joined Bentley College in 1984 as the Chair of the Computer Information Systems Department to lead it through the complex AACSB accreditation process. Prior to joining Bentley College, Dr. Chand taught at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia where he also served as Chair of the CIS Department. He started his teaching career at Boston University, and also taught at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. He worked as research scientist for Lockheed Georgia Company and spent his sabbaticals at Digital Equipment Corporation. His current teaching and research interests are in the areas of design methodologies, software process improvement, offshore software development, distance project management and ERP systems. Dr. Chand has published articles in such flagship journals as the Communications of the ACM, Journal of ACM, IEEE Software, and the Journal of Management Systems. He has been a keynote speaker at regional, national and international conferences. He served as associate editor of the Journal of Information Technology Management and on the editorial board of the Journal of Information Systems Education. He has been an ACM lecturer, computer science program evaluator for CSAB (Computer Science Accreditation Board), and professional development lecturer in advanced design methodologies for both ACM and IEEE. He is very active in community work. He is the founding partner of MITHAS, an organization dedicated to promote South-Asian arts in the greater Boston area, and served as its first director from 1996-1999. He also served as vice president of the New England Chapter of Indian American Federation for Political Education.
