Teaching Interests

Donna teaches courses in Inclusive Leadership (PhD), Managing Diversity (Grad & Undergrad), Teams (Grad), Leadership, and Organizational Behavior (Undergrad). She is a Fellow of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

Research Interests

Donna's research focuses primarily on the study of individuals who identify as BIPOC with a special focus on Latinos/as/x in Corporate America and non-profits. Of particular interest is leadership, bi-cultural identity at work, acculturation, career success, work/personal balance, and fairness. She is the founding editor of the Business Journal of Hispanic Research. Donna is currently working on a diversity textbook for Sage publications with her co-author, Associate Dean Erin Kelley (Bentley University).

Consulting/Practice Interests

Donna works with organizations on topics such as diversity & inclusion, implicit bias, networking, mentoring, emotional intelligence, cultural intelligence, teams, and leadership for Latinos/as/x and other persons of color. She also facilitates workshops that support faculty in learning to teach in a multicultural classroom.

Bio

Donna Maria Blancero (she/ella) is a tenured professor at Bentley University. Most recently she was the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost, and also served as the Dean of Business at Bentley University. She is a national speaker on issues of DEIJ. Blancero received her PhD from Cornell University and is the founding editor for The Business Journal of Hispanic Research. In addition to her academic background, she is a former non-profit executive, serving as EVP for the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (now called Prospanica).

She works with business and non-profit organizations with DEIJ strategy and workshops. In particular, she focuses on race and issues related to Hispanic leadership. Areas of expertise include how cultural values affect one's work experiences, emotional intelligence, and cultural intelligence, as well as networking, implicit bias, mentoring, biculturalism, career success and work/personal balance (or lack thereof). Previously she was the Chair of the DEI Division of the Academy of Management. Blancero is an active and enthusiastic faculty member with the PhD Project.

More recently, Blancero has been exploring ethical leadership and alignment of one's personal values with the values of the institution.
