Bio

My research interests are at the intersection of international business & strategy and implications for development. My dissertation is on corporate governance convergence, and its role in the internationalization of emerging market firms of the Fortune Global 500. I am currently a member of the Academy of International Business (AIB). In a former life, I conducted research in DNA repair and managed a biochemistry laboratory. Fluent in Spanish, studied French and Italian.

Teaching Interests

I am an adjunct professor at the West Chester University of PA, in West Chester, PA. I teach undergraduate business core courses, mainly Business Policy & Strategy and the Business & Society course. At Bentley, I taught the Strategic Management core course, and also worked as a teaching assistant for the International Corporate Governance course at the Harvard Summer Economics Program (Summer 2010).

Research Interests

My dissertation uses a uniquely constructed dataset on board structures and ownership of emerging market firms of the Global 500. Using this data, I developed qualitative and quantitative studies on functional convergence and internationalization aspects using the emerging market firm lens. International Corporate Governance; the role of governments and institutions in MNE environments; economic development and business; issues in FDI; political economy of governance; extractive industries.
