Bio

Professor Deichmann earned his PhD from the University at Buffalo (1999). His current research focuses upon the spatial aspects of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Tourism, with special emphasis on Transition Economies of Central and Eastern Europe. He has published more than twenty-five articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Comparative Economic Studies, Eastern European Economics, Journal of Business and Economic Studies, Journal of Human Development and Capabilities, and Journal of Tourism Studies. He teaches Global Regions ("World Regional Geography"), Contemporary Europe, Global Transportation and Tourism, and short-term study tours to Central Europe (including Prague, Berlin, Warsaw, Zagreb, and Sarajevo).
