Prior to matriculating at Bentley, Allen was employed for several years as a securities analyst at a Fortune 500 insurance company, during which time he earned the CFA designation. Allen gained teaching experience during his studies at Indiana University-Bloomington, where he served as an associate instructor of management science and urban policy.

Management accounting; financial statement analysis

Research Interests

My academic interests encompass the various areas of topical overlap among the sub-fields of financial reporting, management accounting, and auditing. More specifically, my research focuses on issues relating to earnings management; strategic financial reporting and disclosure transparency; and biases in judgment and decision making among corporate managers, investors, and auditors.
