Bio

Christopher Skipwith, Ph.D. is a biophysicist and materials engineer with research interests in the development of medical devices, wearable diagnostic devices, and clinical laboratory tests.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Skipwith's teaching interests are in innovative technology and healthcare diagnostics education for business students. Courses Taught: NASC 110 - Human Biology | NASC 116 - Elements of Living Systems | NASE 399 - Innovative Technology & Society

Research Interests

Dr. Skipwith's research seeks to link the development of novel devices for point-of-care diagnostics with studies of the policy, patenting, business, and public health implications of implantable and wearable point-of-care diagnostics.

Consulting/Practice Interests

Analytical standards in medical technologies, intellectual property and nanotechnology innovations, venture capitalist funding of underrepresented minority scientists, advocacy for postdoctoral researchers
